Great report Byron. Had a brilliant day out with great company, weather, conversation and good finds too.
I had a few good finds including a hoard.......the hoard consisted of 2 x 2 pences, a 10 pence, 2 pennies and a five pence, all in the same hole in the very corner of the field. As i dug the hoard I dreamed of sipping champagne on a luxury liner cruising the Caribbean.... I came back to earth with a bump when the pennies started to appear  ;D
I did find a Georgian penny (1807), a nice St Christopher motor badge, a queen Anne silver shilling, loads of buttons and some other nice bits and pieces.
Big thank you to Norman and Anne Oxley for finding this great place, looking forward to the next one now.

New Board / Beach Recommendations
« on: March 14, 2015, 12:10:21 pm »
Hi All,
Thinking of doing some beach detecting in the week, can anyone out there recommend a local(ish) one.
We've had a look on the following :- Barry (ringpulls and a touch of flu ;o), Merthyr Mawr Newton end (superb collection of ringpulls and a bullet), Southerndown (couple cf coins), Ogmore (lots of small fragments of cans).
If anyone can recommend anywhere else to try that would be great.
Thank You

New Board / XP Reveal New Deus Double-Deep
« on: March 07, 2015, 03:20:58 pm »
French Manufacturers XP Detectors have revealed a brand new Deus, the Deus Double Deep. Although it is slightly heavier than the current model it is claimed to be a lot deeper seeking than it's predecessor due to it's unique double coil configuration, see photo  ;D

Hi All,
Found this brass "relic" in Cowbridge on Saturday, I've searched the web but cannot find anything like it.
It is hollow but quite heavy.
My guess is some sort of cane or umbrella tip, any ideas ??????
All the best
